Hedge Fund Alert - Recruiter Grows Offerings With New Hire

Executive-search firm Finer Recruiting has added a third partner, a move aimed at expanding the two- year-old firm's business to cover proprietary-trading shops, brokerages, exchanges and financial- technology companies.

Eric Einfalt joined Todd Trimmer and founder Brett Finer this month. Einfalt has more than 25 years of capital-markets experience, having worked at trading firms, financial-technology companies and banks. Most recently, he was at Bandon Advisors, a consulting shop he founded as he sat out a non-compete agreement tied to former employer Eventus, a company that makes trade-surveillance software and other products designed to aid risk management and compliance across exchanges and countries.

Einfalt started at the Austin operation as chief strategy officer in 2020. In 2022, he was named global head of business development. He earlier was a partner at two prop-trading firms, XR Trading and Sun Trading. At XR, Einfalt headed strategic development. At Sun, he was chief strategy officer.

He got his start in the business as an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, then spent eight years at Merrill Lynch, which hired him to build a business line to provide clearing and financing services for its early proprietary-trading and high-frequency trading clients.

Einfalt works in Naperville, III., while Finer Recruiting, established in 2022, is based in New York. Before starting Finer Recruiting, Brett Finer headed outsourced-trading operations in the U.S. for Jefferies. In addition to the partners, Finer Recruiting has six recruiters on staff.

To date, Finer clients have been mostly hedge fund operators. The recruiter seeks talent for virtually every role on both the investment and operations sides. Finer also works on behalf of investment banks seeking to find talent for sales and trading posts tied to equities and derivatives, as well as for capital- introduction positions at prime-brokerage units.
